Color measurement is now, and always will be, a hot topic for the flexographic printer. At Flexographic Technical Association’s (FTA) upcoming Fall Conference 2017 (October 9-11, St. Louis, MO, USA), one session focuses on topics ranging from measuring color through global standards, to continuous improvement for optimum printing.

The 90-minute session, comprised of three presentations, will take place Wed., October 11 from 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. The first of the three topics covered will show how to accurately describe and measure color for reproduction by means of ISO 15339 for printing digital data. Next, take an in-depth look at Kaizen techniques used to improve print quality and consistency. Lastly, attendees will learn about equations via the newly updated ISO 20654, graphic technology–measurement and calculation of spot colour tone value–for a user’s color measurement device.

Presentation titles and speakers are:

  • Specifying Hue Angles to Establish CMYK Starting Points – Mark Mazur, FTA Flexo Hall of Fame
  • Continuous Improvement in Action – Joe Riccardella, Berry Global
  • What’s Inside My Device? – John Seymour, John the Math Guy
In addition to this and seven other sessions, conferees will have several opportunities to network their way through a tabletop exhibit containing 66 companies and the latest innovations serving the industry.

Fall Conference 2017 will take place at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch. Attendees can also participate in the Gary Hilliard Memorial Golf Tournament and the Mark Andy facility tour.
